SUBJECT:
Cooling Fan Sound/Vibration

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing two stabilizer rods to the cooling fan shrouds.

MODELS:
2001 - 2002 (RS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager
2001 - 2002 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)

NOTE:

THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH GAS ENGINES.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

At idle, with the cooling fans on, a sound may be heard and/or a vibration may be felt inside the vehicle. The vibration may be felt in the steering
wheel/column, seat, floor, or instrument panel.

DIAGNOSIS:

With the vehicle at normal operating temperature, apply the brake and place the transmission into gear. Turn on the A/C and wait until the cooling fans
activate, and then turn off the A/C and wait for the cooling fans to stop. If a sound is heard or a vibration is felt inside the vehicle while the cooling fans
operate, and the sound or vibration goes away when the cooling fans turn off, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

WARNING:

THIS REPAIR INVOLVES WORK NEAR THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. TO PREVENT PERSONAL INJURY, ALLOW THE EXHAUST
SYSTEM TO COOL BEFORE PERFORMING THIS REPAIR.

NOTE: 

THIS REPAIR MAY NOT ELIMINATE ALL SOUNDS OR VIBRATIONS EXPERIENCED AT IDLE. THIS WILL NOT ELIMINATE THE
SOUNDS AND VIBRATION THAT MAY BE GENERATED FROM THE A/C COMPRESSOR CYCLING ON AND OFF.

With the ignition in the OFF position, open and support the hood.
