Loosen but do not remove the tensioner locking bolt and pivot bolt (Figure 2).

Insert a 1/2" drive breaker bar into the square opening on the tensioner bracket. Rotate the tensioner counter-clockwise until the A/C drive belt can
be removed from the idler pulley (Figure 2).

Using the breaker bar, slowly rotate the tensioner clockwise to relieve the spring load.

Carefully remove the tensioner locking bolt and pivot bolt and then remove the tensioner assembly from the engine. Be careful not to drop the
tensioner torsion spring.
6.
Remove the idler pulley from the tensioner bracket. Discard the tensioner bracket.
7.
Install the idler pulley onto the new tensioner bracket. Tighten the idler pulley bolt and nut to 250 in-lbs (28 N.m).
8.
Assemble the tensioner torsion spring onto the new tensioner bracket. Insert the spring arm into the "USED" belt position on the tensioner bracket
(Figure 3).
