Intrepid V6-201 3.3L (1995)
Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Do not attempt to disassemble or service power brake unit. Brake unit is serviced only as a complete unit.
1. Remove both wiper arm assemblies, then cowl panel cover from cowl.
2. Remove five screws that attach windshield wiper module from dash panel.
3. Remove two master cylinder to brake booster attaching nuts, then slide master cylinder off mounting studs.
4. Disconnect vacuum hose from booster check valve. Do not remove check valve from booster.
5. From under instrument panel, position small screwdriver between center tang of booster input rod to brake pedal pin retaining clip, then rotate
screwdriver so retainer clip center tang passes over end of brake pedal pin and pull retainer clip off. Discard old retainer clip.
6. From under instrument panel remove four booster attaching nuts, slide booster up and to right on dash panel, then tilt outward and up to remove.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque booster to dash panel and master cylinder to booster attaching nuts to 21 ft. lbs.
b. When connecting booster input rod to brake pedal pin use new retainer clip.
c. Ensure brake lights work properly.
