The drive belt is provided with an adjustable tensioner pulley on the timing belt cover to maintain proper belt tension. To remove or install belt, release
tension by loosening the tensioner pulley nut and adjustment bolt. Reverse procedure to tighten belt to specified tension.
1. Remove serpentine drive belt as outlined under "Serpentine Drive Belt".
2. Release tension by loosening the tensioner pulley locking nut, then the adjustment bolt.
3. Remove belt.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tension belt as outlined under "Belt Tension Data".
b. Tighten tensioner locking nut to specifications.
