12. Disconnect motor connector and replace fuse No. 10 from junction block, if fuse does not blow, return to step 3. If fuse blows, wiper control

circuitry is at fault, repair as necessary.

Important Information - Read First

The intermittent wipe function is controlled by the body controller, located in the passenger compartment behind the right side kick panel.

To diagnose system malfunctions that do not involve the
delay function, refer to "Standard Front Wipers" in this section.

Wipers Do Not Run When Washer Motor Is Engaged

1. Disconnect J3 24-way connector from body controller.
2. Using a suitable voltmeter, connect positive lead to terminal 10 of 24-way connector.
3. Engage washer switch so that washer motor runs continuously.
4. If voltage is zero, check wiring between washer motor and body controller, repair if necessary.
5. If voltage is 10 to 15 volts, replace body controller.

Wipers Run at Low Speed With Switch In High Speed Position

1. Check for faulty HI-LO wiper relay.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter check for open circuit between terminal C of HI-LO wiper relay and terminal 18 of body controller J3. If satisfactory

check wiper switch. If not satisfactory repair as necessary.

Wipers Run Continuously\Switch In Intermittent Position

Wiper Will Run Continuously With Switch In Intermittent Position; When Column Switch Is Turned Off Wipers Stop Wherever They Are Without
Returning To Park Position

1. Check for ground at wiper motor wire connector terminal four.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter and with wiper motor in PARK position, check for continuity between terminal one and terminal four of motor

connector. If satisfactory proceed to next step. If not satisfactory replace motor.

3. Check for continuity between terminal one of motor wire harness connector and terminal 2 of J3 24-way connector of body controller. Using a

suitable voltmeter check for short circuit to battery or ignition feed in this circuit.

1. Disconnect motor connector, using two jumper wires connect one between battery positive and terminal three of motor wiring harness connector.

Connect second lead between battery negative and terminal four of motor wiring harness connector.

2. If motor runs at low speed, check for faulty HI-LO wiper relay, then check for crossed wires in harness from HI-LO relay motor.
3. If motor runs at high speed, check for crossed wires in motor pigtail wire connector.
