SUBJECT:
Audio System Induced Door Panel Buzz

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing a revised radio amplifier.

MODELS:
1998 - 1999 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/LHS/300M

NOTE:

THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH INFINITY I AUDIO SYSTEM.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Buzzing of the front door trim panel(s) induced by the audio system. May be more noticeable while listening to musical passages with a lot of bass.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using CD or cassette or radio, try to reproduce the type of music that the customer was listening to when the problem arose. If buzzing noise can be
isolated to door trim, perform the Repair Procedure. If the buzzing noise is coming from the flag speakers then reference TSB 08-38-98 (flag speaker
gasket) in addition to performing this repair.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR
OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.

1.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable remote terminal.

2.

Remove the right under panel silencer/duct from the instrument panel.

3.

Remove two retaining nuts to remote amplifier.

4.

Pull amplifier inboard and then downward to remove from upper retaining clips.

5.

Disconnect wiring connectors and remove amplifier from vehicle.

6.

To install revised amplifier, p/n 04760293AE, reverse the above procedures.
