Hydraulic Control unit (HCU) - Description

DESCRIPTION

The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is mounted to the Antilock Brake Module (ABM) as part of the Integrated Control Unit (ICU). The HCU controls the
flow of brake fluid to the brakes using a series of valves and accumulators. A pump/motor is mounted on the HCU to supply build pressure to the brakes
during TCS and ESP events and to empty the low pressure accumulators during ABS events.

NOTE: The HCU is not serviceable from the ICU for vehicles equipped with Hill Start Assist (HSA).
