Seat Adjuster Assembly Repair

1.

With the adjuster assembly separated from the seat assembly, clamp the reinforcement bracket, PN 4402925, to the adjuster front
crossmember located as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

NOTE:

A REINFORCEMENT MUST BE INSTALLED TO ALL ADJUSTERS DURING THIS SERVICE, EVEN IF THE
FRONT CROSSMEMBER ON ADJUSTER IS NOT CRACKED OR BROKEN.

IF THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS DEFORMED, CRACKED, OR BROKEN (FIGURE 2), ALIGN THE
SURFACES AND FIXTURE, AS NECESSARY, TO MAINTAIN A 1" OFFSET FROM THE TOP OF THE FRONT
CROSSMEMBER TO THE SEAT CUSHION MOUNTING PAD PRIOR TO WELDING REINFORCEMENT
(FIGURE 3).

Shield the power mechanisms and wiring to prevent weld spatter damage.

Weld the reinforcement bracket to the adjuster front crossmember, applying a continuous bead completely around the reinforcement
bracket and rivets (Figure 3). Also, weld any broken or cracked areas of the front crossmember that extend beyond the welded-on
