Remove oil filter adapter (Figure 1).

3.

Clean the oil filter adapter (block side) threads and the corresponding threads in the cylinder block with Brake and Carburetor Cleaner, PN
4318037. Don't use an "oily" type cleaner such as mineral spirits, etc.

4.

Apply Mopar-Loctite Thread Sealant, PN 4318044, or Loctite 515 Sealant to the oil filter adapter-to-block mounting threads. Apply only enough
sealant to coat the threads. DON'T allow sealant to enter the adapter check valve.

5.

Reinstall the oil filter adapter. Torque adapter to 41 N-m (30 foot pounds).

6.

Install new oil filter.

7.

Add oil as necessary to bring oil level to "full".

8.

Start engine and check for leaks.
