Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
Fuel Injecctor replacement
1.
Remove air cleaner.
2.
Perform fuel system pressure release procedures as previously described.
3.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
4.
Remove torx screw retaining injector cap, then lift cap from injector using two suitable screwdrivers.
5.
Pry injector from pod by placing a suitable screwdriver into hole at side of electrical connector.
6.
Remove lower O-ring from pod.
7.
Place new lower O-ring on injector and new O-ring on injector cap.
8.
Place injector in pod, positioning injector as to allow cap to be installed without interference.
9.
Rotate cap and injector to align attachment hold, then press down on cap to ensure proper seal.
10.
Install torx screw, then torque to 35---45 inch lbs.
11.
Connect battery ground cable, then pressurize system and check for leaks.
12.
Reinstall air cleaner.
