A/C Suction Line
DESCRIPTION

The A/C suction line is the refrigerant line that carries refrigerant from the A/C evaporator to the A/C compressor. The A/C suction line is serviced in
two sections. The front section of the suction line (1) connects to the rear section of the suction line (3) with a nut (6). The rear section of the A/C suction
line includes the low side service port (2) and is secured to the A/C expansion valve by a tapping plate (4). The rear section of the A/C suction line is
serviced as an assembly with the rear section of the A/C liquid line (5).
NOTE: Replacement of the refrigerant line O-ring seals and gaskets is required anytime a refrigerant line is opened. Failure to replace the rubber O-ring
seals and metal gaskets could result in a refrigerant system leak.
The A/C suction line has no serviceable parts except for the dual plane seals, low-side service port valve and its protective cap. The seals used on the
connections are made from a special type of rubber not affected by R-134a refrigerant. The seals must be replaced whenever the A/C suction line is
removed and installed.
The A/C suction lines cannot be repaired and must be replaced if found to be leaking or damaged.
