Line-A/C Suction
LINE-A/C SUCTION

The A/C suction line is the refrigerant line that carries refrigerant from the A/C evaporator to the A/C compressor. The A/C suction line is serviced in
two sections. The front section of the suction line (1) connects to the rear section of the suction line (3) with a nut (6). The rear section of the A/C suction
line includes the low side service port (2) and is secured to the A/C expansion valve by a tapping plate (4). The rear section of the A/C suction line is
serviced as an assembly with the rear section of the A/C liquid line (5).
CAUTION: Use only seals specified for the vehicle. Failure to use the correct seals will cause the refrigerant system connections to leak.
The A/C suction line has no serviceable parts except for the dual plane seals, low-side service port valve and it s protective cap. The seals used on the
connections are made from a special type of rubber not affected by R-134a refrigerant. The seals must be replaced whenever the A/C suction line is
removed and installed.
If either section of the A/C suction line is found to be leaking or damaged, it must be replaced.
