THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN 08-006-10, DATED APRIL 7, 2010, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR
FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** ADDED EXTRA DIAGNOSTIC STEP.
THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION IS THE PREFERRED METHOD FOR FLASHING ECUs.
HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP
CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.
THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 10.01 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

StarMOBILE DESKTOP CLIENT, MAY ALSO BE USED TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.
NOTE:
StarSCAN, MAY ALSO BE USED ON THE 2008 AND 2009 VEHICLES LISTED BELOW TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.
SUBJECT:
FLASH: Police Vehicle Interface Module
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flashing the Police Taxi Interface Module (PTIM) with new software.
MODELS:
**2008** - 2010
(LX)
Charger & Magnum Police Vehicles
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a Police Package, sales code (AHB).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Police package WIG-WAG lighting along with other Police inputs (horn mute, radio mute panic alarm mute) may become inoperative. **The module
will require a module hard reset (battery disconnect) to resume functionality.** This condition will most likely occur when the vehicle is in transition
from Ignition OFF to Ignition ON and battery voltage drops below 9 volts.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wi-Tech or StarSCAN) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available on TechConnect, verify all Systems are functioning as
designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If the vehicle operator
describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted. There will be 2 flash files availible. Use the "2008-2010 LX PTIM POLICE"
flash file.
1. **Disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset an unresponsive module.**
2. Using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing an PTIM is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions
select the "HELP tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS. This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen
were help topics can now selected.
3. After reprogramming clear any DIG's that may have been set in other modules due to the reprogramming. The wiTech application will automatically
present all DTC's after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
