1.

Using tool MD 998309 or equivalent, compress spring, then remove retainer lock and retainer, Fig. 26. Do not mix parts of jet valve assemblies.

2.

Pull off valve stem and seal with pliers.

3.

Ensure valve stem diameter is .1693 inch (4.3 mm), face and seat angles are 45° and valve spring free length is 1.165 inch (29.6 mm).

Using tool MD 998308 or equivalent, install valve stem, Fig. 27.

5.

Lubricate all jet valve components with engine oil.

6.

Using tool MD 998309 or equivalent, compress spring, then install retainer and retainer lock.

7.

Install new O-ring, lubricated with engine oil, on jet valve body.

8.

Install jet valve assembly finger tight.

9.

Torque jet valve to 168 inch lbs. Ensure that jet valve socket wrench is not tilted with respect to center line of jet valve.
