FIGURE 1 - Installation Procedure
1.
Drain fuel tank and remove the fill tube screws at the plastic housing (Figure 1).
2.
Raise vehicle on hoist. Disconnect the vent hose, remove the fill tube bracket, and remove the fuel filler hose at the lower filler tube (Figure 1).
3.
Loosen the tank straps and lower tank just enough to remove the vent line hose at the fuel level unit and the lower filler tube (Figure 1).
4.
Install and clamp the 27" long vent hose made from PN 4203526 (bulk stock) to the vent nipple on the fuel level unit (Figure 1).
5.
Lubricate the new lower filler tube with power steering fluid, clean the grommet area, and install the Lower Filler Tube, PN 4279946, after the
vent hose is fished through the hose retainer on the lower tube.
6.
Raise fuel tank and tighten straps.
7.
Install the 5-1/2" long filler tube hose made from PN 4279529 (bulk stock) on the lower fill tube (Figure 1).
8.
Connect the new upper fill tube to fuel tube hose and vent hose (Figure 1).
9.
Lower vehicle and reinstall screws in upper fill tube to the plastic housing.
10.
Inspect all connections for tightness and routing.
Ramcharger (Sport Utility Model)
1.
Drain fuel tank and remove the fill tube screws at the plastic housing (Figure 1).
2.
Raise vehicle on hoist. Disconnect the fuel vent hose, fuel tube hose, and the fuel tube retainer bracket and remove the fuel filler tube (Figure 1).
3.
Loosen the tank straps and lower tank just enough to remove the vent line hose and the filler tube hose (Figure 1).
4.
Install the 3" long vent tube hose made from PN 4203526 (bulk stock) at the tank level nipple, install the vent hose to the steel vent pipe, and
install the new 16.9" long moulded fuel tube hose PN 4279947 to the tank fill nipple (Figure 1).
5.
Raise fuel tank and tighten straps.
6.
Install the vent tube hose on the steel vent pipe (Figure 1).
7.
Install the new upper fill tube and make hose connections on the filler and vent tube, install and secure the fill tube bracket (Figure 1).
8.
Inspect all connections for tightness and routing. Lower vehicle and reinstall fill tube screws to plastic housing.
