Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

Refer to Fig. 24 and install bolts in front bearing caps.
2.
Install wave washers, rocker arms, bearing caps and spring in order shown, Fig. 24.

Place rocker shaft assembly into position, then rotate camshaft until dowel pin hole is in vertical center line, Fig. 8.
4.
Torque camshaft bearing cap bolts to 85 inch lbs., following the sequence listed below:
a. No. 3 cap bolts
b. No. 2 cap bolts
c. No. 4 cap bolts
d. Front cap bolts
e. Rear cap bolts
5.
Repeat step 4, increasing torque to 175 inch lbs.
