Camshaft: Service and Repair

NOTE: The right and left hand camshafts are not the same and cannot be interchanged. The camshafts can be identified by the location of the lobes. On
left-hand camshaft both lobes for each cylinder are on the same side. On right-hand camshaft the lobes for each cylinder are on opposite sides.

REMOVAL

The camshafts are removed and installed from the rear of the cylinder heads once they have been removed.

1. Remove the cover at the rear of the cylinder head.
