Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

NOTE:  The engine coolant temperature sensor threads into the rear of the cylinder head. New sensors have sealant applied to the threads.

REMOVAL

1. With the engine cold, drain coolant until level drops below cylinder head.
2. Disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove coolant sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Install coolant sensor. 

-

Tighten to 18 Nm (165 in lb) torque.

2. Attach electrical connector to sensor.
3. Fill cooling system.
