DISCUSSION:
Some 1998 Neon's built between November 24, 1997 and December 12, 1997 (MDH 11-24-XX and 12-12-XX) were built with flat black door handles.
These door handles can now be serviced with body color handles if a replacement is needed.
The part numbers and color information should be used when ordering replacement handles for the vehicles described above.
NOTE:
ALL TWO/FOUR HANDLES SHOULD BE REPLACED AS A SET IF A BODY COLOR HANDLE IS BEING INSTALLED TO REPLACE A
BLACK HANDLE.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the flat black door handles with body color handles.

Remove and replace all door handles following the replacement procedure in the 1998 Neon Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-8025)
beginning on page 23-14.
