Tailpipe Contacting Underbody
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the exhaust tailpipe for proper clearance between the tailpipe and crossmember and adjusting the exhaust system if
necessary.

This bulletin applies only to vehicles built before March 10, 2011 (MDH 0310XX).
DISCUSSION:
The exhaust system gaging button may have been incorrectly welded onto the exhaust y-pipe which may cause the exhaust pipe to be incorrectly
positioned. An incorrectly positioned exhaust pipe may have the tendency to cause the tailpipe to come in contact with the rear crossmember when
driving over rough roads.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The exhaust system tailpipe may come in contact with the rear crossmember. An exhaust system that comes in contact with any underbody components
may cause noise while driving the vehicle.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the
Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
