Nitro 2WD V6-4.0L (2007)
NOTE: When installing accessory drive belt onto pulleys, make sure that belt is properly routed and all V-grooves make proper contact with
pulleys.
1. Rotate tensioner clockwise and position accessory drive belt over all pulleys.
2. Gently release tensioner.
3. Install combination coolant recovery/washer reservoir.
4.0L Engine With Service Update
4.0L ENGINE WITH SERVICE UPDATE
NOTE: This belt routing procedure must be used on 4.0L equipped vehicles recently serviced with the updated idler pulley design.
NOTE: Fan removed for clarity.
NOTE: Power steering belt removed for clarity.
NOTE: When installing accessory drive belt onto pulleys, make sure that belt is properly routed and all V-grooves make proper contact with pulleys.
1. Inspect the accessory drive belt (5) for any damage.
2. Inspect all belt pulleys. The belt pulleys must be free of oil, grease and coolants before installing the drive belt.
3. Rotate the belt tensioner (1) clockwise.
CAUTION: Do not let the tensioner arm snap back to the freearm position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.
4. Position the accessory drive belt (5) around the generator, idler pulley (4), crankshaft damper pulley, belt tensioner (1), air conditioner
compressor, idler pulley (2), water pump pulley and idler pulley (3).
CAUTION: It is essential that the installation procedure is followed exactly. Failure to do so will result in severe engine damage.
5. Gently release tensioner (1).
6. Install the combination coolant recovery/washer reservoir.
