NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) (sales code BNB).
DISCUSSION:
If the technician finds a red "X" displayed on the StarSCAN(R) ECU View screen, (Fig. 1), for the SAS perform the following:
Attempt to access the SAS with the StarSCAN(R).

If able to access the SAS then the red "X" is erroneous and should be ignored.
NOTE:
Do not replace the BCM or the SAS for this issue.

If not able to access the SAS then the SAS is truly not responsive and further diagnosis is necessary. Refer to the detailed diagnostic information
available in TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 8-Electrical > Electronic Control Modules - Electrical Diagnostics > Lost Communication With
SAS.
