Trailer Lighting Relay: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The trailer tow relay located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) is supplied power for the contact side on circuit A6. This circuit is protected
by a 30 amp fuse located in cavity 7 of the PDC and spliced to provide power to the trailer tow connector.
Power for the coil side of the relay is supplied on circuit L7. This circuit is HOT when the headlamp switch is in the PARK or ON position.
Ground for the coil side of the relay is supplied on circuit Z1.
When the relay is energized, the contacts in the relay CLOSE connecting circuits A6 and L76. Circuit L76 connects from the relay to the trailer
tow connector.
