NOTE:
This recall applies only to the above vehicles built through December 04, 2010 (MDH 120401).
IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer new vehicle inventory. Federal law requires you to complete this recall service on these vehicles
before retail delivery. Dealers should also consider this requirement to apply to used vehicle inventory and should perform this recall on vehicles in
for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.
Subject
The rear axle pinion bearing on about 60,000 of the above vehicles may not receive adequate lubrication under certain driving conditions. This lack of
lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and/or cause a crash without warning.
A rear axle pinion bearing fluid drain-back flow restrictor and new axle cover with a revised fluid fill level access hole must be installed.
