Cooling Fan Noise

THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 07-04-93 DATED NOV. 26, 1993. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE TO
REFER TO THIS BULLETIN WHEN THESE SYMPTOMS ARE ENCOUNTERED. THE CHANGES INVOLVE THE ADDITION OF
COMPONENTS TO INCLUDE " MAX COOLING " EQUIPPED VEHICLES. CHANGES ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS**.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Fan noise (roar) may occur during light load driving (city or highway) when ambient temperatures are high. Customers may also complain of a perceived
loss of power or automatic transmission slippage when the fan engages.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing a revised viscous drive, cooling fan and radiator cap on vehicles equipped with Max Cooling.

1.

Remove the fan and fan drive and install the parts listed above.

2.

Start the engine and operate it at 2000 RPM for 2 minutes to pump fluid into new fan drive.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
