Fuel Filler Hose: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

All catalyst equipped models have a special filler tube.  The fuel filler opening is smaller in diameter than those used for non-catalyst vehicles to
permit entry of only the smaller no-lead fuel nozzles. The filler tube also contains a deflector that is opened by the no-lead fuel nozzle.  

The fuel filler tube on these models has a one-way check valve. The valve is designed to prevent fuel back splash which may occur while filling
the tank.

Labels are attached at the instrument panel under the fuel gauge and near the fuel door reading "UNLEADED FUEL ONLY" to remind the
operator.
