15. While holding stub shaft, pull valve assembly and stub shaft from housing.
16. Remove wormshaft, lower thrust bearing and thrust washers. Remove and discard shaft cap O-ring.
ASSEMBLE
Apply suitable lubricant to all components prior to assembly.

1. Install one thrust washer and thrust bearing, then the other thrust washer over end of the wormshaft. If thrust bearings races are tapered, install
tapered surfaces parallel to each other cupped side toward stub shaft.
2. Install lower cap O-ring in valve body until it is seated against lower shaft cap.
3. Align notch in valve body with pin in worm, then install valve and shaft assembly into gear housing. Apply pressure to valve body instead of
stub shaft when installing, as pressure applied to stub shaft may force it out of valve body.

4. Valve body is fully seated when oil return hole in housing is uncovered.
5. Install O-ring on adjuster plug.
6. Install adjuster plug assembly in housing until it seats against valve body.
7. Push rack piston with teeth facing sector shaft opening until ball retaining tool contacts wormshaft.
