16 X 6 Wheel Hub Caps Loose or Missing

YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS**.

1994 - 1995 (AB) Ram Van/Wagon

NOTE:

THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 16 X 6 WELDED WHEEL ASSEMBLIES (SALES CODE # WDG), BUILT
PRIOR TO MDH 09-06-XX.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Hub caps rattle or fall off.

DIAGNOSIS:

Using two hands, press on opposite sides of the hub cap. If a rocking motion can be felt, or if the hub cap is missing, proceed with the repair procedure
below.

Wheel (Riveted Assembly)

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves the replacement of the welded wheel assemblies with a riveted wheel assembly.

1.

Verify that the wheels on the vehicle are the welded type.

2.

Raise vehicle on an appropriate hoist for removing the tire and wheel assemblies.

3.

Remove the tire and wheel assemblies.

4.

Replace the wheels with the riveted wheels, P/N 5DB88P4A.

5.

Balance the tire/wheel assemblies.

6.

Install the tire and wheel assemblies on the vehicle. Torque the wheel nuts to 175 ft.lbs. (250 N-m). Install hub caps.

7.

Road test the vehicle to verify proper balance and hub cap retention.
