Radio Interference From Buzzer Module

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Buzzing noise in the rear radio speakers (radio ON) with the ignition ON and the door ajar.
DIAGNOSIS:
With the doors of the vehicle closed, turn the ignition key to the RUN/AGG position. Turn the radio ON and tune the radio to an AM radio station that
provides a clear reception. Position the fade control to the rear speakers. Open the drivers side door. If a buzzing noise is heard in the rear radio speakers
(radio ON) with the drivers door open but is eliminated with the door closed, perform the following Repair Procedure.

Buzzer Module, Key In Ignition/Headlamp On/Seat Belt Warning
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the key in ignition buzzer module with a revised part.
1.
Record the radio station presets.
2.
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. On vehicles equipped with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine, disconnect and isolate both
batteries.
3.
Remove the fuse access panel from the left end of the instrument panel.
4.
Remove the five screws that secure the knee blocker to the instrument panel and remove the knee blocker (Figure 1).
