Camshaft: Service and Repair
Cam Lobe Lift Measurement
1. Inspect the lift pump lobe, valve lobes and bearing journals for wear, cracking, pitting and other damage.
2. Clean the camshaft and gear with solvent and a lint free cloth.
3. Inspect the gear teeth for wear and damage. Look for cracks at the root of the teeth.
4. Measure the bearing journals, lift pump lobe and valve lobes.
