Water In Fuel Sensor: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION

The water-in-fuel sensor provides an input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on circuit K1. Circuit K1 connects to cavity A27 of the
PCM.

From circuit K1, the water-in-fuel sensor draws voltage from the PCM. The sensor is a variable resistor. As the amount of water in the fuel
separator changes, the resistance in the sensor changes, causing a change in current draw.

The PCM provides a ground for the water-in-fuel sensor signal (circuit K1) through circuit K4. Circuit K4 connects to cavity A4 of the PCM.
