Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Removal

6.7L DIESEL

WARNING: Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant

temperature sensor.

1. Partially drain the cooling system See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the engine trim cover.
3. Remove the upper EGR tube (2).See: Powertrain Management/Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/EGR Tube/Service and

Repair/Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Tube - Removal 

4. Remove heat shield.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the ETC sensor (3).
6. Remove the ETC sensor from the cylinder head.
