Place a transmission jack under the center of the fuel tank. Apply a slight amount of pressure to the fuel tank with the transmission jack.

For vehicles equipped with a 2-piece driveshaft, remove the driveshaft center support bearing and bracket assembly. Support the driveshaft. Do
not disconnect the driveshaft from the transmission.

Remove the center frame stiffener bracket (if necessary).
15.
Remove the fuel tank mounting strap nuts (Figure 4).
16.
Lower the tank no more than three inches (3") to provide access to the fuel pump module connections.
CAUTION:
Do not lower the tank more than three inches or damage to the chassis fuel tube may result.
17.
Disconnect the fuel tube from the fuel filter/pressure regulator (Figure 5).
18.
Disconnect the other end of the fuel tube from the braided fuel hose.
19.
Remove and discard the fuel tube.
