Remove the cable/lever/throttle linkage cover (Figure 1). The cover is attached with two Phillips screws and two push tabs. Remove the two
Phillips screws then, carefully pry out the two push tab retention clips. Then, pull on the cover to release retaining tabs and remove the cover.

Using two screwdrivers, pry the cable connector socket from the throttle lever pin ball stud (Figure 2).
CAUTION:
BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT BEND THE THROTTLE LEVER ARM.

Squeeze the two pinch tabs on the side of the accelerator cable at the mounting bracket and push the cable rearward out of the bracket.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL TO NOT KINK THE ACCELERATOR CABLE IN THE NEXT STEP.
