3. Refill the differential housing with gear lubricant. Refer to the Lubricant Specifications section for the gear lubricant requirements.
4. Install the fill hole plug.
With 286 Differential
REMOVAL
1. Remove differential assembly from axle housing.
Pinion Yoke Removal
2. Remove the pinion yoke nut and washer. Use Remover C-452 and Wrench C-3281 to remove the pinion yoke.
Remove Pinion Gear
3. Remove the pinion gear from housing. Catch the pinion with your hand to prevent it from falling and being damaged.
4. Remove the pinion gear seal with a slide hammer or pry out with bar.
5. Remove oil slinger, front bearing.
