NOTE:

Make sure that the ABS wheel speed sensor wire is parallel to the brake hose and is not bowed away from the hose.

If the other side of the vehicle requires only front brake hose replacement, repeat Steps 1-11

If the other side of the vehicle requires front brake hose and ABS wheel speed sensor replacement, continue with Section C - Replace Front Brake
Hose(s) and ABS Wheel Speed Sensor(s)

When both brake hoses have been replaced, continue with Section D - Bleed Front Brakes.

C. Replace Front Brake Hose(S) and ABS Wheel Speed Sensor(S)

1.

Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.

2.

Remove the banjo bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper.

3.

Remove the brake caliper and adapter assembly and set the assembly aside.

4.

Remove the brake rotor.

5.

Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor from the hub assembly.

6.

Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor wire from the clips along the brake hose.

Remove the center brake hose bracket fastener.

 Disconnect the front brake tube from the front brake hose.

For RIGHT brake hose assemblies, remove the upper brake hose bracket bolt.

For LEFT brake hose assemblies, remove the clip that retains the brake hose to the upper bracket and then disconnect the brake hose from the
upper bracket. Do NOT remove the upper bracket or disconnect the other brake lines that are connected to the junction blocks on the upper
bracket.

Remove and discard the brake hose assembly.

11.

For the LEFT side only, remove the two (2) upper brake hose bracket bolts and then remove the ABS wheel speed sensor wire from behind the
bracket. Do NOT disconnect the brake lines that are connected to the junction blocks on the upper bracket.

Lower the vehicle.

13.

Inside the engine compartment disconnect the ABS wheel speed sensor electrical connector and then remove and discard the sensor.

14.

Connect the new ABS wheel speed sensor electrical connector and route the sensor wire through the wheel well.

15.

Raise the vehicle to working level.

16.

For the LEFT side only, route the ABS wheel speed sensor wire behind the upper brake hose bracket and then install the two (2) bracket bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 115 in-lbs (13 Nm)

17.

For RIGHT brake hose assemblies, install the upper brake hose bracket on the frame rail. Tighten the bolt to 115 in-lbs (13 Nm)

For LEFT brake hose assemblies, connect the brake hose to the upper bracket and then install the brake hose-to-bracket clip.

18.

Connect the front brake tube to the front brake hose. Tighten the fitting to 185 in-lbs (21 Nm)

19.

Install the center brake hose bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 230 in-lbs (26 Nm)

20.

Install the ABS wheel speed sensor wire into the clips along the brake hose.

NOTE:

Make sure that the ABS wheel speed sensor wire is parallel to the brake hose and is not bowed away from the hose.

21.

Install the ABS wheel speed sensor. Tighten the sensor bolt to 132 in-lbs (14 Nm)
