Water Leaking Into Vehicle Through Side Cowl Panel

FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO APPROXIMATELY 14,000 VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN NOVEMBER 16, 1997 (MDH 1116XX) AND
NOVEMBER 26, 1997 (MDH 1126XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Water leaks through either the right and/or left side cowl panels and dampens the carpet in the foot well area.
DIAGNOSIS:
1.
Open the right door and remove the right front door sill trim cover.
2.
Grasp the center upper edge of the cowl trim cover (Figure 1) and pull outward allowing the cowl trim cover to bow in the center and releasing the
trim cover retaining tab (Figure 2).
3.
Separate the cowl trim cover from the lower cowl.
