Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

WARNING:  Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant
temperature sensor
.

REMOVAL

1. Vehicles equipped with air conditioning:

a. Disconnect the negative battery cable at battery
b. Remove the three Jeep/Truck Engine Controller (JTEC) mounting bolts (Fig. 53) and remove JTEC. Do not disconnect the three 32-way

connectors from the JTEC.

c. Remove engine cover.

d. Remove the A-shaped A/C compressor-to-intake manifold support bracket (three bolts) (Fig. 54).

2. Partially drain cooling system.
