6. Support adapter on 3-4 small wood blocks. Position blocks under transmission mounting surface of front case and between studs.
7. Remove poppet plunger screw.

8. Remove spring and poppet plunger.
Loosening Shift Lever Nut
Shift Lever, Nut And Washer Removal
9. Loosen nut and washer that attach shift lever to sector shaft. Then remove, nut, washer and lever from sector shaft.
