PCM Connector Corroded - Sets MIL Light
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the Power Train Control Module (PCM) and the related wire harness.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 5.9L diesel engine and an automatic transmission.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Water may enter the PCM connector causing corrosion of electrical terminals on the PCM. This condition can set diagnostic trouble codes and illuminate
the MIL light. The most common codes encountered are: P0123 - TPS voltage high or P01596 - MUX Speed Control Voltage High.
DIAGNOSIS:
If either of these diagnostic trouble codes are present or other diagnostics lead to PCM connector problems, Inspect the PCM and the PCM wire harness
connector. Look for darkened or discolored connector pins or any signs of tracking on the insulator. If any signs of corrosion are present, perform the
Repair Procedure. If no signs of corrosion are present other diagnostic methods will be required.
