Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Removal
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle See: Maintenance.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor, disconnecting the electrical harness as necessary to remove knuckleSee: Brakes and Traction
Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed Sensor/Service and Repair/Wheel Speed Sensor - Removal/Front.
4. Remove the tie rod end nut from the ball stud.
5. Separate the tie rod ball stud (1) from the knuckle with Ball Joint Remover 9360 (2).
6. Remove the halfshaft nut (4X4 only).
7. Remove the upper ball joint nut. Separate the ball joint (4) from the knuckle (6) with Ball Joint Remover 9360 (5)
