Hydraulic Control Unit: Service and Repair
Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) Replacement
ABS Harness
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect ABS harness at Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).
2. Unlatch and disconnect harness at controller.
HCU Brake Lines
3. Disconnect lines to front brakes at HCU.
HCU Mounting
4. Remove stud nuts and bolt that attach HCU to inner fender panel. Then remove valve from engine compartment.
5. If valve is only being removed for access to another component, cover brake line fluid ports with tape or plugs to prevent dirt entry.
6. Remove bolts attaching Controller Antilock Brake (CAB) to HCU and remove controller.
