Fuel Rail: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove fuel filler cap and disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Perform fuel system pressure release. See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair
3. Remove air cleaner housing and tube.
Throttle Body Removal
4. Remove the throttle body. See: Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Throttle Body Replacement
Ignition Coil Pack Removal
5. Remove ignition coil pack and and bracket assembly.
6. Remove intake manifold plenum.
7. Remove and individually tag each fuel injector harness connector from the injectors.
8. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel return tube.
9. Remove the six fuel rail mounting bolts from intake manifold.
