Camshaft: Removal and Replacement

Camshaft - Removal

CAMSHAFT

1. Remove the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Drain coolant  See: Cooling System/Service and Repair .
4. Remove the accessory drive belt See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Accessory Drive Belt - Removal .

5. Remove the generator.
6. Remove the A/C compressor, and set aside.
7. Remove the radiator  See: Cooling System/Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Radiator - Removal .
8. Remove intake manifold  See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Intake Manifold - Removal .
9. Remove cylinder head covers See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair/Cylinder Head Cover - Removal .
