Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair
Air Pump Removal
NOTE: The air injection pump is a non-repairable unit. Do not disassemble or attempt to rebuild the pump for any reason. If the pump has been found
to be faulty, replace complete assembly.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the two air hoses from air pump.
2. Loosen (but do not remove) air pump pulley mounting bolts.
3. Loosen automatic belt tensioner and remove air pump belt.
4. Remove air pump pulley bolts, and remove air pump pulley.
5. Remove air pump mounting bolts, and remove air pump from bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Position air pump on mounting bracket.
2. Install pump bolts and torque to 40 Nm (30 ft-lbs).
3. Install air pump pulley and pulley bolts, tighten finger tight.
4. Install air pump belt, and set automatic belt tensioner.
5. Install pulley bolts and torque to 11 Nm (105 in-lbs).
6. Install the two air hoses on air pump.
