THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AN NV4500 MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND EITHER THE 8.0L GAS
ENGINE OR THE 5.9L CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE.
DISCUSSION:
When servicing the release fork on the subject model vehicles, ensure that the fork is installed properly. The fork, when incorrectly installed, can cause a
low growling sound coming through the clutch pedal when the pedal is depressed. To ensure proper orientation of the release fork, locate the production
part number of the release fork. This part number is on the cross support of the fork. Proper installation of the fork can be identified by ensuring that the
part number appears on the left side of the release fork near the pivot ball, not near the slave cylinder push rod (Figure 1).
