Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Installation

3500 CAB CHASSIS

NOTE: All views are typical.

1. Position the steering knuckle on the ball studs.
2. Install and tighten lower ball stud nut to initial specifications See: Suspension/Specifications/Front Suspension Specifications.
3. Install and tighten upper ball stud nut to specifications See: Suspension/Specifications/Front Suspension Specifications.
4. Retorque lower ball stud nut to final specifications See: Suspension/Specifications/Front Suspension Specifications.
5. Install the hub bearing   See: Suspension/Wheel Bearing/Service and Repair/Installation.
6. Install tie-rod or drag link end onto the steering knuckle arm and tighten nut to specification See: Suspension/Specifications/Front Suspension

Specifications.

7. Install the wheel speed sensor See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed Sensor/Service and

Repair/Wheel Speed Sensor - Installation.
