Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Removal
3500 CAB CHASSIS
1. Remove the hub bearing See: Wheel Bearing/Service and Repair/Removal.
2. Remove tie-rod or drag link end from the steering knuckle arm.
3. Remove the wheel speed sensor See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed Sensor/Service and
Repair/Wheel Speed Sensor - Removal.
4. Loosen the upper ball stud nut. Do not remove the nut at this time.
5. Remove the lower ball joint nut.
6. Separate the lower ball joint (4) using Ball Joint Press C-4150A (3).
7. Remove the upper ball joint nut.
8. Remove the steering knuckle (2).
