NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FULL FACE WHEELS (RAM TRUCK SALES CODE - WDB OR WDC, RAM
VAN/WAGON SALES CODE - WJA OR WJM, DAKOTA SALES CODE - WJ2), OR ALUMINUM WHEELS (RAM VAN/TRUCK SALES
CODE - WJC, DAKOTA SALES CODE - WJL).
DISCUSSION:
For both aluminum and full face steel wheels, the tire must be dismounted to measure radial and lateral runout at the tire bead seats. This is necessary
because the gauge cannot reach the bead seat for accurate measurement with the tire installed.
Wheels have two types of measurable runout as defined below:

Radial Runout - Radial Runout is the measurement between the high and low points on each individual bead seat (Points A & B in Figure 1). This
measurement is taken perpendicular to the rim at the tire bead seats.

Lateral Runout - Lateral Runout is the measurement between the high and low points on each individual bead seat (Points C & D in Figure 1). This
measurement is perpendicular to the wheel face at the tire bead seats.

EXCLUDE WELD SPATTER INFLUENCES ON RUNOUT MEASUREMENT ON FULL FACE WHEELS WHENEVER POSSIBLE.
