Brake Warning Indicator: Description and Operation
Brake Warning Lamp Circuit Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION
Circuit G5 supplies power to the brake warning lamp. There are several ground paths available for the lamp.

When the case grounded brake warning switch CLOSES it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp through circuit G9 Anti-lock Brakes
(ABS) or G14 Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL).

When the case grounded parking brake switch CLOSES, it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp through circuit G9 (ABS) or G11
(RWAL).

When the ignition switch is in the START position, it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp on circuit G9 (ABS) or G14 (RWAL).
If the vehicle is equipped with Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL) brakes, circuit G14 connects to the RWAL module.
If the vehicles is equipped with all wheel Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), circuit G9 continues to the ABS control module.
